n the midst of arguably the best season of his career, Mesut Ozil has been rewarded.
The Arsenal playmaker was named the German national team’s player of the year for 2015, the fourth time he has won the award in five years.
Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos won the award in 2014.
Voted on by the German fans, Ozil earned 45.9 percent of the vote, beating Thomas Muller by a landslide margin (15.9 percent).
Ozil featured in eight of Germany’s nine matches in 2015, going the full 90 minutes in every appearance. The only game Ozil did not play in was a friendly against France.
