Arsenal Transfer News: Aaron Ramsey Targeted by Pep Guardiola Amid Fresh Rumours

Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey is reportedly one of incoming Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola's "top midfield targets" ahead of his arrival at the Etihad Stadium after the 2015-16 season.
That's according to an exclusive by Wayne Veysey of Football Insider, who reported "a City recruitment source has told Football Insider that Guardiola is a big admirer of Ramsey."
The Spaniard has already "discussed at length potential summer targets" and will be handed a £150 million war chest to conduct his business.

Per David Wright of the Express, Ramsey might also be the subject of interest from Barcelona.
Spanish football experts Rafael Hernandez and Sergi Dominguez believe it will be all change at the Etihad this summer following Guardiola's arrival:
Bleacher Report's Dean Jones and Sam Tighe made several predictions as to City's possible ins and outs this summer, and identified Yaya Toure as one who could be due to leave with Guardiola set to demand a high work rate from his players:

In his place could be Ramsey. The Welshman certainly isn't afraid to work hard for the team, as Squawka Football revealed in the 2-1 win over City in December:
The midfielder has also attempted 109 tackles in just 19 league showings this season—though he has won just 33, he's clearly making an effort to win the ball—and also made 36 interceptions, seven clearances and eight blocks, according to Squawka.

Guardiola will no doubt be expecting his team to pass the ball and keep possession, and according to Squawka, only six players have successfully completed more passes than Ramsey in the Premier League this season.

Ramsey would hardly be the first Gunners star to make the switch to City, with Samir Nasri, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy and Bacary Sagna paving the way before him.

The 25-year-old, who has bagged five goals and three assists in all competitions this campaign, would seriously risk the ire of the Arsenal faithful by making a move to the Etihad, but they would likely be more accepting of a move to Barca if he should leave at all.
Ramsey has expressed interest in heading to the Camp Nou in the past, telling the Guardian (h/t Wright):

"Obviously it’s very flattering [to be linked with Barcelona]. They did the treble last year and it’s just really nice to be linked with one of the best clubs in the world. One day I would like to go over to Spain to play just to see what it’s like and to experience that."

However, he did add: "But at the moment I’m with Arsenal and I feel like this Arsenal team can go and be successful and challenge for things."

The midfielder could just as easily opt to stay with the Gunners—who may well be looking to defend a Premier League title next season—having been with them since 2008.
A whole host of players will be linked with both Guardiola's City and Barca in the coming months, so Arsenal fans shouldn't panic at the prospect of Ramsey leaving just yet.
